Hello

My name is Nishanth, I’m currently in my 3rd year of BCN, and I’m excited to be running for President of the Science Society!

My Platform

As someone who’s been deeply involved in SciSoc and various departmental clubs within the Faculty of Science over the past 3+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to advocate for students, organize impactful events, and strengthen our science community – and I would love to continue doing so on a larger scale.

Currently, I serve as VP Finance of the Biology Students’ Union (BSU), VP Student Advocacy for the Behaviour, Cognition & Neuroscience Students’ Association (BCNSA), and the MySci Mentorship Coordinator for SciSoc, where I revamped the mentorship program to support almost 100 first-year mentees this year, earning me the Coordinator of the Year Award on SciSoc. I’ve also led many collaborations between multiple clubs, organizing events like Game Nights, Speaker Panels, Craft-a-Thons, and Stacks for STEM – where we provided free breakfast to science students – ensuring that students have opportunities to de-stress, connect, and feel supported.

If elected, I want to expand student support initiatives, strengthen mentorship and networking opportunities, and foster a more connected and inclusive Science Society. I’d also love to introduce more first-year-focused events to ease the transition into university and create more collaborations between SciSoc and departmental clubs to reach as many students in science as possible.

I believe in collaboration, transparency, and amplifying student voices, and I’m ready to put in the work to make next year one of the best yet!

Vote 4 Nish!
