Katie Chan

Hi everyone! I'm Katie Chan, and I'm running to be your Vice President Finance for the 2026-27 year! 

 

For those of you I haven't met yet, I'm currently studying mathematics and I'm going into my final year at the university! Right now, I serve as the Math and Stats Rep for Science Society, and I can't wait to extend my experience to the executive team next year. 

 

As your future VP Finance, my main job would be managing all the money. Our money is your money, and my promise to you is this: every decision will always be made with the students at the front of my mind. The whole goal is to create a better experience for all science students, and that wouldn't be possible without everyone's support. Since each of you pay into our budget each semester, part of mine and the society's promise is being transparent with our funds! I'd ensure that all departmental science clubs receive proper funding from us to carry out all their activities, which we can all enjoy. At the same time, I would budget our funds so we can continue to run great events both big and small, from our annual charity gala to our monthly events.
