W.E. Care for Kids
The Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation is dedicated to supporting the health and wellness of the children in Windsor Essex County. This includes funding and supporting our local paediatric healthcare programs at local hospitals, as well as paediatric mental health, physical therapy and learning disabilities. Our target
audience includes any child and family within the Windsor Essex County boundaries. Our goal is to ensure that our local healthcare teams have the tools they require to take care of the children in our community—right here, at home.
We Care for Kids is currently fundraising for a NICU Transport Incubator for Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan Campus. This specialized piece of equipment is used for infants that require assistance breathing and require transport to another medical facility. Currently, Windsor Regional Hospital’s NICU responds to Erie Shores Health Centre for any infant that requires a higher level of care. The transport Incubator Ventilator is used to transport the child safely to the NICU at Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan Campus. The device is also used within the hospital when an intubated infant needs to be moved within the hospital for a procedure, such as an MRI. This piece of equipment is a vital piece for our community and needs to be ready for service at all times.
