Teo Bonasso
VP Finance Candidate
As a candidate for Vice President Finance of the Science Society, my priority is building a financially sustainable future while maintaining responsible management and meaningful investment in student life.
Sustainability means thinking beyond one academic year. It means creating a financial structure that ensures the Science Society can consistently support students, clubs, and initiatives without facing instability or shortfalls. As VP Finance, I will prioritize long-term planning; developing budgets that balance ambition with practicality and maintaining appropriate reserves, especially with uncertain policy changes on the horizon.
Responsible management is the foundation of sustainability. I will carefully track spending, evaluate the return on investment of our initiatives, and ensure that funds are allocated where they have the greatest impact. Every decision should reflect both fiscal responsibility and our commitment to serving science students.
At the same time, sustainability does not mean limiting opportunity. It means investing strategically. I will advocate for meaningful funding of academic events, fun social programming, and community-building initiatives that deliver lasting value. By analyzing past spending trends and outcomes, we can direct resources toward programs that truly benefit students.
Most importantly, I bring organization, attention to detail, and accountability to this role. I am prepared to manage budgets carefully, meet deadlines consistently, and collaborate effectively with the executive team.
Together, we can ensure the Science Society’s finances are transparent, sustainable, and focused on what truly matters: supporting science students.
Thank you for your consideration!
